Is the legacy of Web 2.0 destined to be the marker of the anti-social revolution and repulsive online norms and memes?

I am always disheartened to realize just how much the "bringing together of us" intellectually has actually distanced us emotionally by allowing anonymous, vengeful, attacks from those who do refuse to own their own words.
