If you aren't a member of TED.com, you should be -- "TED" stands for "Technology, Entertainment and Design" -- and some of the most forward-thinking and brilliant minds appear there to share with you the truths of what they know.

John Q. Walker gives a fine lecture on how he has been able to recreate the great pianists -- not performances, but the aesthetic and style of the performer -- by digitally discerning finger pressure, pedal movement and their artistic, ethereal, intention.

Knowing God's Wants

Is it possible to really know God's wants -- especially when we have so many Gods roaming the universe around us?  We can pretend we know God's wants.  We can interpret text to try to give us direction -- but any human knowing of an immortal's internal intention is folly at best and heresy in the worst.

3G is Broken on the iPhone 3G

I have been loving my new iPhone 3G a lot -- but after the recent 2.0.2 upgrade that was supposed to "fix" the 3G voice and data problems on at&t, I am beginning to taste the sting of a bitter lemon from Apple.

Barack Obama, in an attempt to appeal to as many niche political groups as possible, has splintered his support so much that -- in the end -- there is no single coalition of minds that leads to results instead of mere yearning. Here is one of the lapel buttons for sale on his website:

Sometimes technology expands just enough to cogently clear the way for expanded communication opportunities. 

When Janna and I created sosASL.com as a portal for emergency communication between the Deaf and fire, police and EMT first responders, we realized it would not have been possible to create the site without the rise of technology and its seeping into every niche of the American psyche.

We are all tethered to each other via pipes and wires -- but every growing day detaches us from deeper connections with the outside world -- and our mind-body dyad begins to melt in the soup of technology.
